About
After graduating from grad school in 2005 and spending my college years rowing, I needed a way to keep the weight off so I picked up running. After a couple of months I developed a serious knee issue and required surgery. As I was recovering I had put on some serious weight because I couldn't really move around too much and I lost all my energy. So again, once cleared by physical therapy I started walking and then running again. I signed up for my first marathon - Walt Disney World. I put in the work and finished in 6:30. It was at that point that I decided I was hooked. Fast forward 14 years and I have completed 11 marathons with my fastest being 3:50. I've run a ton of half marathons, 10ks and 5ks. I even finished a half Ironman which was amazing but likely a one and done. Now that I am hooked on running (my wife would argue addicted to running) I've decided that I'd like to complete a marathon in all 50 states and maybe one day do all 6 World Majors. When I am not training for my own races, I also coach for Team in Training. I can be found out on the Disney Marathon race course wearing my Team in Training coach shirt and Goofy hat (even in the heat). I was first introduced to Armpocket at a Disney expo many years ago and I've been hooked ever since. This is the first arm band that I have purchased that stays in place and doesn't get overly hot on my arm. I've put it through the wringer and it keeps on ticking.
